The brown rat has grey-brown fur, a pointed nose, large, bare ears and a long, scaly tail. It is much bigger than any mouse species:
Wood mouse/field mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus). Wood mouse is also known as field mouse or long-tailed field mouse.
A British Woodland wouldn't really be complete without a grey squirrel (unfortunately):
