During the Spring of 2023 the Committee identified a few small maintenance jobs on site which could only be done before the spring sap started to rise in the trees and they came into leaf. A small group of volunteers cleared the old dew pond in Camps Copse so that during the year it would be exposed to more sunlight having become overgrown over the years. The felled timber and branches were laid to a combination of live hedge and also dead hedge within the copse itself to help encourage further wildlife diversity as its starts to decompose.
Before the birds started nesting an opening in the hedgerow in Scotts corner was opened which will be completed with a small bridge this year, this will allow a circular route to be walked through the entire site.
